Lemongrass oil is used highly in skin cleansers and toners for its antimicrobial, antiseptic, antiviral and bactericidal properties. Often used in massage oils for its analgesic and anti-inflammatory qualities as well as it promotes circulatory health. Lemongrass can relieve varicose veins. It is also promoted as a treatment for tendinitis and tennis elbow. In diffusers, it is a great air purifier and has fungicidal properties as well. It is a natural insect repellent and is said to work well on fleas and ticks. With its high antimicrobial activity, is was reported to combat antibiotic resistant Staphylococcus aureus (Staph Infection), according to a study published in the November 2012 issue of Journal of Applied Microbiology.
