This intoxicating scent is used widely in perfumes and cosmetics, because of its hair, skin and mood balancing properties. It is antibacterial and antifungal and antiseptic. It is used in toners and shampoos targeting overly oily or overly dry skin and hair.  It is used in treating dandruff. It is well known is aromatherapy for calming anger, reducing stress and even lowering blood pressure. It is a disinfectant and expectorant and diffused, can be used in the treatment of cough, colds and flu. Ylang Ylang Essential Oil is also used to treat insomnia and in meditation as it has a sedative effect.
